New Suicide Screening Tool

In an effort to provide the best behavioral health care to our patients, St. Charles is adopting the Columbia Suicide Screening Rating Scale (C-SSRS).

The C-SSRS is the gold standard in suicide assessment tools for the industry. This change will enhance the screening process for patients and support caregivers in choosing the appropriate resources and interventions for patients.

Recommended by The Joint Commission, this evidence-based screening tool for the system will help lead to better overall outcomes for patients.

Education will be provided in an e-learning module and additional information will be provided at daily huddles.

The e-learning module became available on June 15. Caregivers who were assigned the lesson need to complete it by July 5, the day the C-SSRS goes live in Paragon for documentation purposes.
