New chemistry analyzer transition begins today

St. Charles Laboratory continues to look for ways to improve the quality of its laboratory services and is pleased to announce the implementation of new chemistry/immunoassay instrumentation, the Roche cobas Pro analyzers and 8100 automation line.

The four-month transition begins today, Jan. 5, and full go-live is anticipated on April 20. The new system is expected to further improve the quality and reliability of testing results and reduce turn-around time.

During the transition, the laboratory will temporarily lose the current automation line, and laboratory staff will manually process and load samples. The lab is committed to providing the same level of care, but delays are possible as we adjust to the new process. Please remember to be patient and understanding with lab staff during this transition.

Reference ranges will not change. The laboratory does not foresee a significant change in patient results as we change instrumentation. Please reach out to Alissa Paulson or Sharon Reams with any concerns regarding results.
