Four new lactation spaces in the Bend hospital

Caregivers who are breastfeeding at St. Charles Bend now have more access to private, comfortable spaces to pump or nurse with the installation of four Mamava lactation pods in the hospital. These four pods are in addition to the four dedicated lactation rooms already available in Bend.

The Mamava pods can be unlocked using the free Mamava app, available in the App Store and Google Play or by scanning this QR code.

Here is a map of all lactation spaces at the Bend hospital, and here are descriptions of their locations:

Lower level

  • Next to the Rehab Conference Room

First floor

  • Near the entrance to the Intensive Care Unit
  • Near Conference Room C
    • This pod is available for public use. Visitors can request an access code from the Guest Services desk near the hospital’s main entrance.
  • In the sitting area near the corridor leading to Heart & Lung

Here’s where you can find the dedicated lactation rooms in the Bend hospital. Those highlighted in red are currently under renovation:

  • Second floor: Near the courtyard
  • Third floor: Next to room 339
  • Fourth floor: Next to room 436
  • Fifth floor: Across from rooms 522/523

Mamava pods are wheelchair accessible and furnished with built-in seating, lighting, shelves, mirror, coat hook, outlets and USB ports, and a fan. Learn more about them, including dimensions, at the company’s website.

Each St. Charles hospital has dedicated lactation space. Here’s where:

  • St. Charles Madras: Main hallway, across from the Family Birthing Center entrance.
  • St. Charles Prineville: 2nd floor in Administration, 3rd door on the right.
  • St. Charles Redmond: North hallway to the right of the ED treatment area double doors.
